Stick key chains and my new shirt

On my walk to the hospital
Today I went to the hospital and I saw my Tomato growing up.
I'm really happy with her/his pictures.

I got 1 kg in the month and the doctor told me not to gain more still.
Japanese doctors are strict about weight usually. He told me to decrease meals. It seems hard for me,,, but I'll try for my Tomato.
(But my sister got more than 20 kg because her doctor was not so strict.)

My new shirt
For when I get larger, I made this shirt, with my hands as always.

My new shirt
I sewed it with cotton double gauze fabric, so it's comfortable.

After I finished it, I still wanted to sew something and I made three key chains.
Making key chains 1
I sketched the design at first, choose fabrics from scraps, and patchworked.

Making key chains 2
Then put battings on the back and decorated them.

Making key chains 3
At last put a piece of fabric for the back and sewed them. Turn it out and fill it with stuffings.

Key chains
I like making items without patterns and decorating small items with Sashiko, buttons, laces etc...

Some of you asked me to tell the pattern of rabbit charm. Please wait for a while. When I make them again, I'll make the instruction.

I hope you see beautiful and warm spring soon. It's still cold here.

  6. hi mai,
glad to know that u and Tomato are in good shape. i had a healthy diet when i was pregnant with my 2nd child. it is becoz the baby absorb all the food, and i want to have a normal delivery. i gain only 7 kg, and my baby was born 3,5 kg :)
the tips is not having too much rice, only 5 spoon of rice/ meal, and whenever i feel hungry i eat fruits that have lots of water but less sugar like tomato, and also have lots of vegetables
hope it helps. take care :)

  9. I really love the key chains. I found your comment about the weight interesting. German doctors are not that strict. They often tell you to eat healthy, but what you feel you want because that is probably what the baby needs. And if it is just for the looks, a healthy baby makes you more happy than a thin body. I'm sure you'd lose the extra weight in no time...

  10. Mai..your shirt really impressed me. Sew with your hand?? It so nice :)

Yes, don't worry about your weight. My weight increase 22kg until delivery(from 47-69). After give fully breastfeed, now I'm 43 kilos :)

Here, sometimes rainy but still in hot weather 37c-40c.(Malaysia)

    Take care :)

  13. How fun you got to see pictures of your baby. I am a tall thin woman, but gained 19 kg when I was pregnant with my first child. I had to be on a strict low fat diet for my health. With my second child, I didn't have to be on a low fat diet, ate what I wanted and still gained 19 kg. In both cases, I lost all the weight and I am back to the size I was before pregnancy. You lose the weight breast feeding and chasing your baby! Good luck, and beautiful shirt.

  20. Oh doctors! It seems every year there is a new way to confuse us with their knowledge! If Tomato is hungry go ahead and feed yourself and her. Try to eat fresh fruit and vegetable snacks. Weather permitting, take a little walk. you and Tomato will be just fine.

Your new blouse looks so cute and very comfortable. Good job. The key chains are just adorable! I love how you use all your scraps. So smart.

  25. I like the idea that your doctor is strict about your weight. I think most of the doctors here normally ask you to eat more and more and more...like my sister's doctor. I adore your lovely shirt...everything you make are always so beautiful! And your key chains are adorable! Have a lovely merry happy day and love to you and yours!

on the weight gain- American doctors say one should gain about 11-13 kg. I gained 16 with my first and lost all of it no problem. I'd eat up! :)

  36. your key chains are so very pretty!

If you don't want to gain weight, you should drink LOTS of water. It is likely what you body really needs more of, not food. One half hour before a meal drink 2 large glasses of water, then drink again 2 and a half hours after the meal.

    Happy days to you!
    Hugs from Emily

  37. |I really think every body reacts differently on a pregnancy and guidelines for weight gain are OK, but you will do differently then someone else. I gained more then 20 kilo's in each of my three pregnancy's and still lost most (except one or two) right after the baby was born.
If you know you are eating healthy, please keep eating, it will hurt your baby and your own body when you do not eat enough!
